Teaser trailer whats thaat?? :S

So in order for me to be able to make a teaser trailer i need to know what one is, why we have teaser trailer and what are the key elements that have to be featured in a teasure trailer.
Teaser trailers are different to theatrical trailer which people get confused about. Teaser trailers last much shorter than a theatrical trailer running at 30-60 seconds of footage to the the theatrical trailer running roughly around 2 minutes long.

Theatrical trailers come out roughly about a year before the movie is going to be realeased. This is because it is used to just tease 'teaser trailer' the audience about the up and coming movie. Unlike the theatrical trailer teaser trailers don't show as much footage from the movie, because the movie is generally just at the begining of filming. What most teaser trailer do is try and show the main actor that is featured in the movie as a way of grabbing the audience, whereas teaser trailers show more of a narrative to the movie aswell as the main actors. Most teaser trailers don't tend to have a narrative as they are released early on in production of the movie.

Teaser trailers are made just to tell audience that the movie is coming up, so they tend to be made for major film releases that are more likely to be advertised better than a smaller teaser trailer. Most teaser trailers tend to have alternative scenes in them, because at the time the teaser will be released the editing will either be in process or started.

Having briefly looked at romantic teaser trailers they tend to be the longer lasting teasers compared to the action or horror teaser. This because in 30 seconds or less of a action or horror teaser trailer you can excite an audience because those genre of movies are more for excitement and edge of your seat entertainment whereas romantic and drama movies tend to be more about stories. In a teaser trailer your not meant to tell to much of the story. This will be a challenge for making my teaser trailer.
